The introduction of this system at the end of 2024 helped to reduce road traffic and nitrogen dioxide concentrations in the capital, according to the report released this Friday.
The study - the first to assess the impact of the ZTL - reveals improvements in air quality "sensibly greater on certain routes directly affected by the reduction of traffic".
The ZTL has reduced traffic in central Paris. Airparif is also observing a measurable decrease in nitrogen dioxide pollution.
With a reduction in traffic from 18 to 29% in these two spaces, the concentration of nitrogen dioxide, a pollutant emitted by vehicles, has decreased significantly in the air of France according to an Airparif study.
