South Africa Edge Namibia to Reach Tri-Series Final
On Friday at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek, South Africa defeated Namibia by 11 runs to reach the T20I tri-series final, defending their total of 228 runs.
Opener Lhuan-dre Pretorius scored 101 from 53 balls, becoming the youngest player to hit a T20I century among a full-member nation at 20 years and 161 days old.
Pretorius and Connor Esterhuizen shared a 156-run partnership, while Namibia openers Louren Steenkamp and Jan Frylinck responded with a 119-run stand; Frylinck scored 72 runs off 36 balls.
With 24 needed from the final over, Ruben Trumpelmann scored 21 runs off 10 balls, but Gerhard Erasmus could not score the remaining 11 runs as Namibia fell short.
The tri-series final will take place in Namibia on Sunday, September 6, at 14:00, where South Africa will face Zimbabwe in the decisive match of the ongoing tournament.
