- The Lahore Deputy Commissioner ordered the 30-day detention on September 21, citing police reports alleging the women's activities were "prejudicial to the public safety and maintenance of public order" linked to May 9, 2023, protests.
- Counsel for the petitioners, Advocate Rana Mudassar Umar, argued the detention proceedings were unlawful, noting that Uzma had already been declared innocent in the case registered against her.
- These detentions, which also include sister Aleema Khan at Kot Lakhpat Jail, occur ahead of the party's planned nationwide protest and march toward Islamabad scheduled for September 27.
- While the court declined immediate suspension, it issued notices to the Punjab government and other respondents, seeking replies regarding the legality of the detention orders.
