You Probably Don't Need a 1,000 Hz Gaming Monitor
LG says the 24.5-inch panel is built for esports players and adds Motion Blur Reduction Pro, AI Scene Optimization and AI Sound.
- On Monday, LG Electronics unveiled the UltraGear 25G590B, the world's first gaming monitor with a native 1,000Hz refresh rate at FHD resolution.
- Unlike dual-mode competitors such as TCL's 640Hz panel, which requires resolution adjustments to reach peak refresh rates, the 25G590B maintains FHD clarity at 1,000Hz natively.
- The 24.5-inch IPS display features Motion Blur Reduction Pro technology, which sharpens fast-moving objects, while a minimalist stand with calibration indicators maximizes mouse movement space.
- Lee Choong-hwoan, head of the Display Business at the LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, called the monitor a "defining moment for gaming monitors" with AI Scene Optimization and AI Sound features.
- LG has not revealed pricing but confirmed the monitor will launch in the "second half of 2026," with availability initially in select markets before expanding globally.
