The prefecture of Haute-Vienne is one of the few cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants that could switch to the left at the end of the municipal election in March, thanks to the game of alliances.
LFI is considering "technical mergers" with the other left-wing forces on 22 March, during the second round of municipal elections, in order to avoid the victory of the nationalist right.

While relations with the PS are at the height of tension and alliances from the second round to the left have become one of the issues at stake in the election, LFI coordinator Manuel Bompard calls for an "anti-fascist front".
The national coordinator of LFI, Manuel Bompard, felt that these agreements would not necessarily lead, in the event of a victory, to joint management of the cities.
On Monday 9 March, the candidate supported by La France insoumée, Florian Kobrin, called for a vote on his list in the first round, while setting out the conditions for union with Jeanne Barseghian in the second round if he did not get in the lead.
