To the editor: There’s no apparent end in sight for the elevated nitrate episode affecting the Des Moines area’s municipal water supply. Data from the Des Moines Water Works (DMWW) website shows the treated drinking water from the Fleur Drive treatment plant exceeding 8 mg/L nitrate-nitrogen every day since April 18.
