Our community values education and has repeatedly stepped up to fund the schools.

Letter to the Editor: Public education funding

Public education is funded through pooled tax dollars, not individual payments. Families do not pay the full per-student cost of schooling. Funding comes from personal and corporate taxes, provincial and federal grants, fees, and fundraising. The Alberta School Foundation Fund exists to provide consistent educational quality across communities, regardless of local wealth.
