Letter to the Editor— On the closing of the PEIF sauna

On May 5, 2026, NMU Rec Sports sent an all-campus email stating that effective immediately, the sauna facilities located within the PEIF’s locker rooms would be closed indefinitely. The email cited several reasons including cost, safety and security. While I do not doubt the validity of the reasons, none is unsurmountable.
