[Opinion] Letter: Companies, people lack sense of responsibility | Honolulu Star-Advertiser

Summary by Star Advertiser
Hawaiian Electric’s response to a letter writer, who wrote in about a power outage claim, is downright negligence, in my opinion (“HECO needs scheduled underground upkeep,” Star-Advertiser, Aug. 5). Isn’t it convenient that they absolve themselves of fault, saying that because they don’t have a maintenance schedule, the damage was unforeseeable and therefore beyond their control?
