The 4,104-piece set is the largest Lego Technic car yet, and a full-size version set a brick-car speed record at Goodwood Hill.
- Lego Group revealed the Lego Technic Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear, the sixth and largest set in the Ultimate Car Concept Series, launching this July at $449.99 in the United States with 4,104 pieces.
- Developing this complex set took 1.5 years, longer than the typical one-year timeline, as designers had to create 19 new pieces to realize the vehicle's intricate functionality.
- The functional model features a nine-speed "Lightspeed" transmission, a plastic V-8 piston engine, and a complex Triplex suspension; users can open doors and fold mirrors by pressing a button near the rear wheel arches.
- Koenigsegg test driver Markus Lundh drove a 1:1-scale drivable version of the Sadair's Spear, constructed from 327,906 pieces, at Goodwood Hill, setting a speed record for a Lego Technic car at 111 km/h.
- The new 4,104-piece set dethrones the 3,893-piece McLaren P1 as the largest Technic car by piece count, following the 2024 release of the 801-piece Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut.
