Anti-trans, DEI provisions have Michigan lawmakers at odds over school budgets

The Michigan legislature is nearing its July 1 deadline to approve its budget bills but the state House and Senate are at odds over anti-transgender and diversity, equity and inclusion provisions.

Legislature Continues to Target Transgender Youth

House and Senate lawmakers Thursday approved the final versions of bills to prohibit medical procedures for transgender minors, to restrict voting and changes to public education on their last session of the 2025 session outside of veto day this fall.
