Despite the somewhat chillier temperatures compared to the past week, enthusiastic crowds came out to Walpole Island First Nation for the 31st annual spring powwow.

Annual Pow-Wow brings Communities Together

The 46th annual Iatwa ina Pow-Wow will take place this Saturday, May 17, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Gill Coliseum, with grand entrances at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Admission is free and open to the wider community, with many of the event’s Head Staff visiting from different Tribal Nations.  The Pow-Wow will be emceed by Carlos Calica, recently elected vice chairman of the 30th Tribal Council of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs and a fourth g…

The 2025 Spring Pow-Wow is happening at the Walpole Island Arena Grounds on May 17- and 18 at 12 p.m. “Come and see why there’s no Pow-Wow like a Walpole Island Pow-Wow!” organizers said on social media. “You don’t want to miss it!
