LeBron James Disputes Report He Called Out Joel Embiid for Showing up Late to Sixers' Practice
- On Tuesday, LeBron James denied reports that he reprimanded Philadelphia 76ers teammate Joel Embiid for arriving late to practice, dismissing the account on his Instagram Story as false.
- During Monday night's preseason game against the New York Knicks, ESPN announcer Mike Breen claimed James 'let Embiid hear it' after the center arrived a couple of minutes late to practice.
- James wrote on Instagram, 'He ain't been late so stop the lies,' while teammate VJ Edgecombe previously noted that James consistently arrives at the training facility in Camden, New Jersey, before others.
- The report gained traction because Embiid has faced punctuality concerns previously; in November 2024, Tyrese Maxey reportedly criticized the center for being late 'for everything' during a team meeting.
- James, who signed a two-year contract this offseason, has prioritized accountability as the 76ers mesh their new roster, with the team preparing for their regular-season opener against the New York Knicks on October 20.
