In a post on X, Salam said the decision was taken 'in commitment to fulfilling my duty completely in safeguarding the security of the Lebanese people and their unity,' adding that he would remain in the capital Beirut to oversee government work.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said Saturday that he is experiencing an imminent movement in the United States and the United Nations, calling for the need to stay in Beirut, CNN reports.
The Lebanese Prime Minister revealed that he has postponed his planned visit to Washington, D.C., to focus on the situation in the country following continuous Israeli attacks.
Salam was scheduled to travel to Washington in the coming days.
