Latest congressional map would move 63,000 Chesapeake residents to new district

The map shift moves 63,000 Chesapeake residents to increase Democratic advantage in 10 of 11 districts, pending voter approval of a contested mid-decade redistricting amendment.

The Virginia Senate amended a proposed redistricting map that would move more Chesapeake residents out of the 3rd Congressional District into the 2nd Congressional District. The changes come as the Republican National Committee filed a lawsuit challenging state Democrats' efforts.
