The Lasallian victims' collective has identified more than 250 former students claiming to have suffered physical and sexual violence in some 50 Catholic institutions in France. Former students report sexual touching, rape, beatings, torture and barbarism. The first incidents reported date back to the 1950s. The victims were between 5 and 15 years old.
A new complaint of rape was filed in March 2026 by a former student of the Saint-Bernard Sainte-Marthe school in Besançon, Doubs. The group of victims also recorded a dozen reports in the Doubs.
