HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (WSAV) -- UPDATE: One person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. BCSO has a suspect in custody. There is no threat to the public. The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) has responded to a large police presence in Hilton Head Plantation. Gunfire was reported Friday morning at approximately 10:30 a.m. Residents were asked to avoid the area. WSAV will update this story as details become available.
