A southwest Wisconsin man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for reckless homicide, following a stabbing death two years ago in Prairie du Chien. Jessie Slaughter of Lancaster was sentenced last week for the 2024 death of 65-year-old Daniel Welsch of Prairie du Chien. Welsch was found dead inside a house in Prairie. Slaughter was taken into custody the next day. Investigators say the men knew each other.
