Lancaster man sentenced for stabbing death of 65-year-old in Prairie du Chien

A southwest Wisconsin man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for reckless homicide, following a stabbing death two years ago in Prairie du Chien. Jessie Slaughter of Lancaster was sentenced last week for the 2024 death of 65-year-old Daniel Welsch of Prairie du Chien. Welsch was found dead inside a house in Prairie.
