Hybrid Beast: 2027 Lamborghini Urus SE Performante Takes the Super SUV to the Next Level
The plug-in hybrid adds a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and electric motor, and Lamborghini says it cuts 0-62 mph to 3.3 seconds.
On Wednesday, Lamborghini revealed the 2027 Urus SE Performante, a hybrid performance model delivering 812 horsepower, which the manufacturer calls the "fastest Super SUV in the world."
Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann confirmed the company abandoned plans for pure electric vehicles because market acceptance for EVs is not increasing among the brand's customers.
Performance enhancements include a new "6-D sensor" for predictive handling and an upgraded braking system improving power by 10 percent, while carbon fiber usage shed around 70 pounds versus the standard model.
Designers updated the Urus with an aggressive exterior including larger grille openings and a new Rally mode for loose surfaces, plus a redesigned 12.3-inch touchscreen and carbon-fiber interior trim.
Expectations suggest sales will start around $300,000 in the United States by 2027, while the Urus continues representing about 50 percent of Lamborghini's total global sales annually.
The top-of-the-line Lamborghini Urus SE Performante features an 812-horsepower plug-in hybrid powertrain. It accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, reaches speeds of up to 312 km/h, and also offers an improved chassis.
The new Urus SE Performante received an 800-power hybrid device, became easier, faster and improved aerodynamics, enabling it to qualify for the world's fastest serial crossover.
At Lamborghini, weight has always played a major role. This even applies to the urus, which is now to penetrate new dynamic spheres with carbon and titanium diets and fitness treatments.
