Lakers Rule Luka Doncic Out for Game 1 at Thunder
Luka Dončić remains week-to-week after a left hamstring strain, and the Lakers will open the series against the NBA’s top seed without him.
On Monday, the Los Angeles Lakers ruled out leading scorer Luka Dončić for Game 1 of their second-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
A left hamstring strain, suffered in a 139-96 loss to the Thunder, has sidelined the six-time All-Star who averaged 33.5 points per game during 2025-26.
Coach JJ Redick declined to provide updates, though ESPN reported Sunday that Dončić is on a "slow path" in his recovery with no full-contact workouts yet.
Despite his absence, the fourth-seeded Lakers defeated the fifth-seeded Houston Rockets 4-2 in their first-round series without Dončić.
The top-seeded Thunder enter the second round after sweeping the Phoenix Suns 4-0, while the Lakers hold a 0-4 regular-season record against Oklahoma City.
