LA28 to open volunteer applications July 14 for Olympic and Paralympic Games
LA28 seeks 60,000 volunteers for Olympic and Paralympic roles, with applicants able to choose locations, skills and event preferences.
On Monday, the Los Angeles Organizing Committee announced that applications for the LA28 Volunteer Crew will open July 14, exactly two years before the 2028 Olympic Opening Ceremony.
Organizers are seeking around 60,000 volunteers to support events across the greater Los Angeles area, Oklahoma City, and cities hosting soccer preliminaries, including Nashville and San Diego.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and proficient in English to qualify, with each volunteer required to complete at least 10 shifts during the Games.
"Volunteers are the backbone of the games," LA28 CEO Reynold Hoover said, emphasizing their role in creating memorable experiences for athletes and communities across the region.
The volunteer period for the Olympics runs from March through August 2028, while the Paralympics require volunteers from August to September 2028.
