The issue of the Turkish Grand National Assembly's commission, established as part of the process dubbed "Turkey Without Terror," wiretapping PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan continues to be discussed. Video surveillance is becoming increasingly prevalent, rather than face-to-face meetings.
Former AKP member Mücahit Birinci reacted to the words of TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, saying, "If the National Security Council decides that the PKK is no longer an armed organization, it will have strengthened the legal basis of this issue," by saying, "La hawla."
"If it were up to me, I would finish the process tomorrow morning. A lot has been done, but little is left. This time we will definitely succeed. For the first time, all wings of politics have united around a common goal on this issue. Some parties are having their own internal discussions, but we want to complete the report as soon as possible."
Regarding the work of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission, Turkish Grand National Assembly Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş said, "On Thursday, our Ministers of Interior, National Defense, and the Director of National Intelligence Organization will explain the steps taken."
