At around 9:55 a.m. on the 6th, a train driver discovered white powder on the floor of a train stopped at Higo-Ozu Station on the JR Hohi Line. Deeming it a suspicious object, approximately 150 passengers were evacuated, and the train bound for Kumamoto Station was cancelled.
According to JR Kyushu, subsequent investigations by the Kumamoto Prefectural Police and others revealed that the white powder was found at another station.
