Kroger will deploy AI-powered Meal and Shopping assistants nationwide using Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience to personalize grocery planning and speed tasks.
- On Jan. 11, 2026, The Kroger Co. expanded its relationship with Google Cloud to roll out Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience nationwide, introducing integrated Meal and Shopping assistants from Cincinnati and Sunnyvale, Calif.
- Kroger said the expansion supports a customer experience transformation to drive digital growth and personalization by streamlining shopping tasks and making the experience more personal, Yael Cosset said.
- The Shopping assistant uses agentic integration for multi-step tasks and an inspiration-to-cart flow that adds recipe ingredients with one click, grounded in Kroger's proprietary data asset.
- Kroger will use Customer Experience Agent Studio to analyze calls and boost productivity, with more than 400,000 associates serving over 11 million customers daily.
- Google Cloud provides a fully integrated AI stack with planet-scale infrastructure and custom-built chips, and Darshan Kantak, vice president of product for applied AI at Google Cloud, said Kroger is pioneering generative and agentic AI in commerce as a comprehensive digital concierge.
