Kroger Health Reaches New Milestone in Prescription Drug Safety Program
Kroger Health's free program has reached over 250,000 students nationwide since 2018 to promote safe prescription drug use and reduce misuse, officials said.
- On Jan. 15, 2026, Kroger Health announced from Cincinnati it has supported more than 250,000 students completing Prescription Drug Safety: Know the truth, offered free to schools via Everfi.
- After starting in 2018, participation grew from approximately 700 students in 2017-18 to nearly 65,000 in 2024-25, showing rapid program expansion.
- Pre- and post-assessments show students report readiness to support peers affected by prescription drug misuse, and Everfi delivers the curriculum using digital and offline resources for measurable outcomes.
- Supporting the program underscores Kroger Health's commitment to raising awareness about safe medication use, and Colleen Lindholz said, `By equipping students with the knowledge and skills they can use to make better, healthier decisions, we're building stronger, more resilient communities.`
- The milestone highlights Kroger Health's national scale, as it serves more than 17 million patients annually through Kroger Family of Pharmacies and The Little Clinic's 23,000 healthcare practitioners.
