On Wednesday 25 June, rapper Koba LaD was sentenced to 6 years in prison for causing the death of his friend William Dogbey in a road accident in September 2024.
On Wednesday 25 June 2025, the judicial court in Créteil ruled: Koba LaD received six years in prison for a fatal road accident in 2024. A verdict expected after nine months of pre-trial detention; the 25-year-old artist therefore remains incarcerated at the end of the trial.
At the wheel of his vehicle on 10 September 2024, the artist had caused the death of a friend in a road accident. He was driving too fast and under the influence of narcotics. At the hearing, he sailed between recognition of his guilt and minimisation of the facts.
At the hearing, the rapper acknowledged on Wednesday that he had killed "in spite of him" his friend William Dogbey. The prosecutor requested a sentence of 7 years in prison with continued detention. The correctional court imposed 6 years firm on Koba LaD who remains in prison.
The Créteil court also decided to cancel the musician's current driver's licence and prohibit him from re-entering it for 10 years.
HEARING REPORT - The 25-year-old rapper recognized a "bad maneuver" that cost his front passenger William Dogbey his life. The prosecution, pointing its finger at his excessive speed under the influence of narcotics, lamented that he was not taking the measure of his responsibility.
