Kiolbassa Smoked Meats Announces Executive Leadership Transitions to Support Future Growth
Kiolbassa Smoked Meats revealed that Michael Johnson will take over as President starting July 1, 2025, as part of a planned change in leadership in San Antonio.
The succession plan, developed under CEO Michael Kiolbassa's leadership, received full endorsement from both the Board of Directors and the Advisory Board at their recent meeting.
Bill Wagner, who became President in July 2022 as the company’s first leader outside the Kiolbassa family, will move into the new role of Executive Vice-Chairman, while Jerry Carnes, currently responsible for sales, will take on greater management duties and join the Senior Team.
Michael Kiolbassa praised Michael Johnson’s extensive business expertise, leadership qualities, and long-standing commitment to the company—starting from his early days as a summer intern—and expressed confidence in Johnson’s ability to lead the organization forward.
This leadership change reflects Kiolbassa's commitment to growth and leadership development within its family-owned, nationally distributed, premium smoked sausage brand.
