King's Hawaiian Announces $54M Expansion in Hall County, Creating 135 New Job
HALL COUNTY, GEORGIA, JUL 17 – King's Hawaiian will add a new production line at its Oakwood plant, creating 135 jobs and expanding its product offerings with new pretzel bite flavors, CEO Mark Taira said.
- Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp’s office announced Thursday that King's Hawaiian will invest about $54 million to expand its Oakwood facility in Hall County, Georgia.
- Founded in 1950 by the Taira family in Hilo, Hawaii, King's Hawaiian entered Georgia in 2010 and now supports 800 jobs.
- The expansion adds a new production line at its 150,000-square-foot facility, creating 135 jobs and hiring for management, maintenance, food safety and quality control.
- Lanier Technical College, Georgia Quick Start, and the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce will train and develop talent, and this marks the facility's sixth major expansion since 2010.
- With operations set for the second quarter of next year, the investment underscores the role of such expansions in Georgia's economic development, Governor Brian Kemp said.
