Disney+ Sets "Kingdom Hearts" TV Series
- On Friday, Disney announced an original animated series based on the Kingdom Hearts franchise at D23, with the project in development for Disney+ and Disney Channel.
- Developed in partnership with video game creator Tetsuya Nomura and Square Enix, the series "reimagines the iconic adventure with a brand-new story that will expand on the universe of Kingdom Hearts."
- Ayo Davis, president of Disney Kids & Family, said, "There's something really exciting about taking a world fans have spent years exploring through the games and bringing it to life."
- During the same presentation, Square Enix revealed Kingdom Hearts 4 is launching in "late 2027," with the game featuring a new world based on Pixar's Coco.
