Kia EV2: Brand's Smallest Electric SUV yet Debuts in Europe
- On Jan. 9, 2026 at the Brussels Motor Show, Kia Corporation unveiled the EV2, featuring EV Route Planner, Plug & Charge and bidirectional V2L.
- Kia designed the EV2 as a compact gateway to electric mobility, with production beginning in the first quarter of 2026 for the standard-range model, followed by long-range and GT Line variants throughout the year.
- Technical specifications include two battery packs: a 42.2kWh standard unit with 317km WLTP range and a 61.0kWh long-range battery, both supporting AC and DC fast charging in around 29-30 minutes.
- Manufacturing will begin in the first quarter of 2026 at Žilina, Slovakia, with standard EV2 production starting then and long-range and GT Line models following throughout the year, but Kia Australia said logistics and cost hurdles make local supply unlikely.
- Expected pricing positions the EV2 below 30,000 and at 4,060mm length it is 80mm shorter than the Renault 4 E‑Tech in Europe’s city EV segment.
