Kia Is Giving the Racy GT Treatment to Three New EVs, but We Might Not Get Any of Them

Kia expands its electric GT lineup with dual-motor AWD versions of EV3, EV4, and EV5, featuring up to 302 hp and production planned for Q2 2026.

  • On Friday at the Brussels Motor Show, Kia unveiled three new electric GT models: the dual-motor AWD EV3 GT, EV4 GT and EV5 GT.
  • Driven by a push for sportier electrics, Kia is adding GT driving mode and digital features to move beyond single-motor front-wheel-drive models.
  • The GTs pack specific powertrains, with the EV3 GT and EV4 GT producing 282 horsepower from 194-hp front and 94-hp rear motors while the EV5 GT delivers 302 horsepower.
  • Kia plans to begin production in Q2 2026, with deliveries expected soon after, though all GTs will have reduced range due to the second motor's added weight and power draw compared to WLTP ranges for non-GT EV3/EV4/EV5.
  • With models arriving this year, Kia will offer an electric GT in nearly every segment, but U.S. availability is uncertain as the EV5 is Canada-exclusive, the EV4 likely won’t come, and the EV3 may arrive, Russel Wager said.
