HBO’s ‘Harry Potter’: Kevin McKidd Responds to Arthur Weasley Speculation
McKidd said he would be happy to join the series, noting he once missed a role in the final two Harry Potter films.
Scottish actor Kevin McKidd addressed speculation about his potential casting as Arthur Weasley in the upcoming HBO Harry Potter series during a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Rumors intensified when eagle-eyed fans noticed Gracie Cochrane, cast as Ginny Weasley in the HBO adaptation, started following McKidd on Instagram, fueling online speculation about his involvement.
McKidd recently departed Anatomy after 18 years; he previously declined a role in the original Harry Potter films from Director David Yates due to contractual obligations on Journeyman.
Describing himself as a "massive Harry Potter fan," McKidd told Entertainment Weekly he would be "very happy" if the casting rumors became reality and would not rule out joining the franchise.
HBO has not officially announced an actor for Arthur, as the character does not appear until the second book, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, with the series adapting each book per season.
