More Kentuckians can now apply for a learner's permit
- Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear signed House Bill 15, allowing 15-year-olds to apply for a driver's permit, which goes into effect immediately.
- The law requires 15-year-olds to complete 60 hours of practice driving, including 10 hours at night, before obtaining an intermediate license.
- Beshear stated that the bill will assist families in managing daily activities, saying, "I signed this bill knowing it will help working families better juggle all of life's activities."
- Along with House Bill 15, Beshear signed 17 other bills into law aimed at increasing protections for children and victims of domestic violence.
