Kent-Born Darts Star Crowned European Champion for Second Time
- On Sunday, October 25, Ross Smith won the European Championship in Dortmund, defeating German finalist Martin Schindler 11-8. "It's absolutely amazing," Smith said after reclaiming the title he first won four years ago.
- The tournament, which began Thursday, featured the top 32 players from the PDC European Tour Order. Schindler made history in Dortmund as the first German to reach the final of a major event.
- After overcoming world number four Gerwyn Price 11-7 in the semi-finals, Smith secured the £150,000 top prize. He defeated Luke Woodhouse 10-6 in the quarter-finals earlier that day to continue his dominant run.
- World number one Luke Littler suffered a surprise 10-6 quarter-final defeat to Poland's Krzysztof Ratajski on Sunday. The 19-year-old, seeking his first European title, missed the chance to complete his collection of major trophies.
- Following his September victory at the Darts Finals in Amsterdam, Smith has now claimed two major titles in six weeks. He holds two European Championship trophies, proving his consistency on the professional circuit.
