Chandler Blanchet and Kensei Hirata Share the Lead in Bermuda
Blanchet and Hirata reached 13-under after low rounds, while a windy weekend is forecast to test the field at Port Royal.
- On Friday, Chandler Blanchet and Kensai Hirata shared the lead at 13-under 129 at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship in Southampton, Bermuda.
- Scoring was low at Port Royal, with the halfway cut coming at 5-under 137, as wind—the course's primary defense—has not yet reached full strength through two rounds.
- Blanchet birdied the 18th hole for a 4-under 67, describing the shot as "a pretty uphill, above-the-feet lie and completely blind shot," while Hirata shot a bogey-free 64.
- Trailing the leaders by one shot are Seamus Power, Corey Conners of Listowel, Ont., Ben Silverman of Thornhill, Ont., Eric Cole, and Danny Walker.
- Stronger winds are forecast for the weekend, complicating efforts of players attempting to secure full status for 2027 in the FedEx Cup Fall standings.
