Peacock's Update of 'The 'Burbs' Gets Teaser, Release Date
Peacock will release all eight episodes of the mystery comedy series on Feb. 8, updating the 1989 cult classic with Keke Palmer starring and executive producing.
- Peacock announced Keke Palmer, star and executive producer, will debut all eight episodes on Feb. 8, releasing the first teaser.
- After a September 2024 straight-to-series order, Peacock enlisted Celeste Hughey and Rachel Shukert to create and produce the show with UCP / Universal Studio Group.
- The ensemble cast includes Jack Whitehall, Julia Duffy, Paula Pell, Mark Proksch, Kapil Talwalkar, Kyrie McAlpin and Justin Kirk, while Palmer, Seth MacFarlane, and Brian Grazer executive produce.
- Palmer and Whitehall play a young couple who reluctantly relocate to the husband’s childhood home, where a new neighbor reveals cul-de-sac secrets and deadly threats that disrupt their quiet neighborhood.
- The 1989 film starred Tom Hanks and Carrie Fisher and is now considered a cult classic, grossing just over $49 million against a reported $18 million budget.
