Kehoe Campaigns Across Missouri for Amendment 3 on Eve of Election Day
Kehoe says the measure would restore abortion limits and add a constitutional ban on gender-transition procedures for minors.
On Monday, Republican Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe concluded a statewide tour at Jefferson City Memorial Airport, campaigning for a 'yes' vote on Amendment 3, which would reverse abortion rights protections approved by voters in 2024.
Kehoe argued that Missourians were confused during the 2024 election, claiming 'for years, I've had people tell me they didn't understand what they were voting on then,' while urging support to repeal the previous protections.
The ballot measure restricts abortion to the first 12 weeks of pregnancy in cases of rape and incest, with exceptions for medical emergencies and fetal anomalies, while prohibiting gender-transition surgeries for minors already illegal under state law.
Planned Parenthood Great Plains Votes CEO and President Emily Wales urged voters to oppose the amendment, arguing the gender-transition ban is already statute and the measure aims to confuse voters about abortion access.
Missourians head to the polls Tuesday to decide the amendment, potentially reversing the 52% vote that established abortion rights in 2024.
