- The tragedy occurred at a TVK rally in Velusamypuram last September, prompting Vijay to previously provide Rs 20 lakh to each bereaved family beyond the Rs 10 lakh solatium announced by the then DMK government.
- Authorities deployed around 6,500 police personnel across Karur to ensure security, while Vijay participates in a nearly 10-kilometer roadshow through the district before official ceremonies.
- Beyond relief efforts, the Chief Minister will lay the foundation stone for an Evervan Kothari Footwear Private Limited factory at Manavasi village, a Rs 1,700 crore project expected to generate employment for around 13,500 people, officials said.
- The day's program begins around 11 am along the Karur-Salem Highway, with Vijay later addressing a public meeting at the Atlas Kalaiyaranga Ground before formalizing appointments at the Karur District Collectorate.
