Cochrane Mayor Peter Politis feels the province is turning its back on Northern Ontario as the idling of the Kapuskasing Paper Mill threatens 2,500 workers across the region.

The northern Ontario town of Kapuskasing is reeling following news that the local paper mill has been idled. Neither Kap Paper nor Unifor has provided details about how long the mill will be idled for or how many workers are affected.
