Kalieb Osborne, Shamar Porter guide UConn to 35-16 victory over UMass
Osborne completed 14 of 19 passes for 173 yards as UConn scored on offense and special teams and handed UMass its fourth straight loss.
On Friday, Quarterback Kalieb Osborne threw two touchdown passes and ran for a score, leading Connecticut to a 35-16 victory over Massachusetts at Rentschler Field in East Hartford.
The Huskies took control early, overwhelming the Minutemen defensively by forcing five consecutive 3-and-outs in the first half after adjustments made during the bye week.
Running back Cyncir Bowers rushed for 131 yards while Osborne passed for 173 yards, and Shamar Porter contributed a touchdown catch plus a blocked punt recovery for a score.
This victory marks Connecticut's fourth consecutive head-to-head win, allowing the Huskies to take the lead in the all-time series against the Minutemen with a 39-38-2 record.
Connecticut will travel to Air Force next Saturday for a 3 p.m. kickoff, then begin a three-game homestand with North Carolina, James Madison, and Old Dominion.
