Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy met with governors, mayors, and members of parliament in Kahramanmaraş to discuss the restoration of cultural heritage sites and foundation properties in the earthquake-stricken region.
Economy, Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy inaugurated five mosques and Kahramanmaraş Castle, which were damaged in the February 6 earthquakes and whose restorations have been completed.
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy: “For us, restoration is not only about rebuilding what has been destroyed. Restoration is about respecting the original identity of the historical work, ensuring that it can continue to exist in the future.”
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, as part of his Kahramanmaraş program, reopened the Şekerli, Saraçhane, Acemli, Hacı Veli Bey and Bektutiye mosques, whose restorations have been completed, for worship, and also opened Kahramanmaraş Castle, one of the city's iconic structures, to visitors.
