The European Court of Human Rights ordered France to pay €15,000 of moral damage to a young woman from the Forbach region. In May 2020, when she was only 14 years old, the complainant had denounced incidents of rape in a parking lot in Freyming-Merlebach. The French courts had released the two defendants in question. This was a mistake according to European judges.
