Oscar Benítez, who had been out of the club for a year, had been on probation since last January for the murder of his ex-wife and for violating his restrictive orders days before that happened.
The former Argentine footballer, passing through Mexican football with Atlético San Luis, was sentenced to five years of effective imprisonment for violence and threats against the family of his ex-husband Anabelia Ayala, who died.
