MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY, JUL 30 – Julia Hyman, 27, was one of four killed after the shooter mistakenly targeted her workplace due to grievances linked to chronic traumatic encephalopathy, police said.
- On Monday, Julia Hyman, a 27-year-old Cornell University alumna, was shot and killed on the 33rd floor of 345 Park Avenue, identified as the fourth victim.
- Investors said Shane Tamura, a 27-year-old Las Vegas casino security worker, planned to kill at NFL offices but took the wrong elevator, Mayor Eric Adams said on Tuesday.
- Using an AR-15-style rifle, Tamura killed three people in the lobby, then rode the elevator to the 33rd floor and killed himself after shooting Hyman.
- The investigation into the shooting continues as authorities said the building will remain closed today.
- Adams and NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said on Monday evening that the massacre was likely motivated by chronic traumatic encephalopathy , and a note accused the NFL of concealing concussion dangers for profit.
