Joy Behar Taking a Break From ‘The View’: All the Details
Behar said she will miss two weeks for a Europe trip and rehearsals for My First Ex-Husband, while guest hosts fill in on The View.
On Tuesday, Joy Behar announced her extended hiatus from The View on the Behind the Table podcast, revealing she will step away starting next week to pursue creative projects in Europe.
Behar's two-week absence stems from commitments beginning with a week in Paris spent playwriting in cafes and visiting art exhibits, followed by performances in her play My First Ex-Husband at Boulevard Theatre in London's West End.
Executive producer Brian Teta revealed Sheryl Underwood will fill in for two days, followed by Kara Swisher, with Whoopi Goldberg appearing on Fridays and Ana Navarro covering additional days during the hiatus.
Behar will complete the week on air through her final appearance on May 28th, with her stage production featuring Jackie Hoffman and two British actresses as co-stars.
Despite the extended break, Behar remains committed to The View, having co-hosted since its premiere and missing only seasons 17 and 18, emphasizing that creative people "don't resign, they just keep going.
