Journalist Aziz Zemouri and "Le Point" sentenced for "defamation" after an article about Raquel Garrido and Alexis Corbière

The Paris Correctional Court sentenced the journalist to several thousand euros in fine, for an investigation published in "Le Point" where he wrongly accused the couple of having exploited a undocumented housekeeper.

The former weekly journalist should pay a fine of 4,000 euros, as should the editor of the publication Étienne Gernelle.

The couple had filed a complaint in June 2022 following the publication of a weekly article wrongly claiming that he was employing a undocumented woman to keep her children and to clean up.

On 12 May 2025, the Paris Correctional Court sentenced journalist Aziz Zemouri and the editor of the magazine Le Point, Étienne Gernelle, for defamation of Raquel Garrido and Alexis Corbière. Aziz Zemouri was sentenced on Monday 12 May 2025 to €4,000 fine by the Paris Correctional Court. In 2022, the former point journalist accused the couple, wrongly, of employing a undocumented maid.

In an article published in Le Point in 2022, former LFI members Raquel Garrido and Alexis Corbière were wrongly accused of employing an undocumented cleaning lady.
