A Joplin firefighter has been hospitalized in critical but stable condition after suffering a medical emergency at 10 a.m. Tuesday during a training session at the Public Safety Training Center, city officials said.

A Joplin Firefighter suffered a medical emergency during a scheduled training exercise today (3-25-2025) around 10 a.m. at the Joplin Public Safety Training Center. Fellow Joplin firefighters provided immediate assistance on scene and the firefighter was transported to a local hospital where they are listed in critical but stable condition.
