WASHINGTON - After years of investigating U.S. tech platform practices that he says censor conservatives, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan is taking his free speech crusade global, targeting European regulations he claims are silencing conservatives worldwide.
The European Union's Digital Services Act, or DSA, came into effect last February. Some see the regulation as the end of the Wild West of the internet, where social networks could do whatever they wanted and were not accountable to anyone. Others see it as a dangerous tool of censorship that threatens democracy.
