- Jim Geoghan, co-creator and executive producer of the Disney Channel sitcom The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, died Sunday, September 7, in Los Angeles at age 79, his daughter Genevieve Geoghan confirmed.
- Before his Disney Channel success, Geoghan established a prolific television writing career, contributing to series such as Silver Spoons, The Facts of Life, and Family Matters throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
- Earning two Emmy Award nominations for The Suite Life of Zack & Cody in 2007 and 2008, Geoghan also saw his play Only Kidding run for 500 performances at the American Jewish Theater.
- Following the original series, Geoghan executive produced the sequel The Suite Life on Deck, which ran from 2008 to 2011, and the franchise extension The Suite Life of Karan & Kabir.
- Geoghan began his career in 1973 with the comedy trio Divided We Stand before moving to Los Angeles with his wife of 45 years, Annie, to pursue television writing.
