Jets Activate Defensive Tackle T’Vondre Sweat From Non-Football Injury List
The 25-year-old nose tackle is expected to bolster a Jets run defense that added him in an offseason trade with Tennessee.
- On Saturday, The New York Jets activated Vondre Sweat from the active/non-football injury list after he was sidelined since the start of training camp with a hamstring ailment.
- Sweat was acquired from the Titans during the offseason in exchange for edge rusher Jermaine Johnson after being selected 38th overall by Tennessee in 2024.
- Across 29 games in Tennessee, the 366-pound lineman recorded 85 total tackles and three sacks. He previously missed five games last season after an ankle injury against Denver.
- Coach Aaron Glenn and coordinator Brian Duker consider Sweat a key piece of the defense, where he is expected to anchor a line alongside Harrison Phillips and David Onyemata.

The Jets announced that they have activated NT T’Vondre Sweat from the non-football injury list. Sweat, 25, was the 2023 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and also won the Outland Trophy for the 2023 season during his time at Texas.
